Product description

Immuven® is a nutritionally complete food with a composition adapted to the state or risk of malnutrition and perioperative periods, before procedures and after injuries, which, when used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, can be the sole source of food for the people for whom it is intended. It contains a composition of essential nutrients – whey proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, as well as omega-3 acids, L-arginine and beta-glucans from yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). It can be both a complete replacement of the diet and its supplementation. Tropical fruits flavour.

Properties and features that make the use of the preparation useful and the justification for its use:

Nutritionally complete food, supplemented with ingredients that affect the immune system, such as omega-3 acids, L-arginine and beta-glucans from yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). Malnutrition in the supply of proteins negatively affects the immune system, in particular T16 lymphocytes. Vitamins C and D and zinc play an important role in the wound healing process12-14. They have an effect on the immune response, mediated by cytokines, the production of prostaglandins, by regulating transcription factors sensitive to redox processes1. Patients after surgery belong to the group of people exposed to thiamine deficiency4,5.

The body’s response to injury or surgery may be an excessive inflammatory response2. Omega-3 acids are present in the processes of cell growth and differentiation, affect immunological processes, and limit the inflammatory response6. EPA and DHA acids may be beneficial in patients who develop an excessive inflammatory response1. Omega-3 acids affect wound healing and limit their infections15.

L-arginine is an amino acid used in protein synthesis, essential in many metabolic processes. Its deficiency often occurs after major trauma8 and cancer cachexia9. It participates in wound healing processes10. L-arginine supply increases the formation of nitric oxide, which participates in the tissue repair process10. L-arginine in combination with other immuno-components reduces the percentage of infectious complications and shortens the length of hospital stay, especially in patients after elective procedures1,11. Its effect on wound healing processes is greater in combination with omega-3 acids15. Scientific data also indicate the immunomodulatory effect of beta-glucans from yeast3.
